About Our Organization
About Princeton Detox Support Group
We are an independent information and referral resource for people and families exploring addiction-treatment and recovery options in and around Princeton, New Jersey.
Safety note: For a medical emergency, call 911. For immediate mental-health or substance-use crisis support, call or text 988.
What We Do
We publish general educational information and answer phone calls from people looking for a starting point. On a call, we can explain common terminology, describe the kinds of programs that exist, share publicly available resources, and point callers toward independently operated providers and official agencies they can contact directly.
What We Do Not Do
We do not provide medical detoxification, clinical diagnosis, counseling, emergency care, crisis intervention, or treatment services. We do not admit people to programs, we do not assess clinical needs, and we do not tell anyone which provider to choose.
We are not a hospital, clinic, detox facility, treatment center, licensed medical provider, insurer, or government agency, and we are not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency.
How We Approach Information
- We describe options neutrally and avoid ranking, rating, or endorsing providers.
- We cite public, authoritative sources such as federal and state health agencies.
- We say plainly when something depends on an individual clinical situation, and we direct those questions to qualified professionals.
- We do not use fear-based messaging, guaranteed outcomes, or promises about results.
